GovConJudicata Weekly Debrief (3/1–5)

This week's Weekly Debrief covers GSA's BIC MAC RFI and its cloud collaboration efforts, CPARS commentary, GAO's report on weak cybersecurity in DoD weapons contracts, and DIA's $12.6 billion IT services contract.

GSA

  • "The General Services Administration (GSA) released an updated request for information (RFI) searching for guidance on its Best-in-Class Multiple Award Contract (BIC MAC) contract vehicle, which aims to support Federal agencies’ procurement requirements for professional services."

  • "The COVID-19 pandemic has the General Services Administration thinking about how it can reduce barriers to interagency collaboration around data and the cloud."

Contracting

  • "Government services have never been more essential to the American people than they are today. The need for the government to excel in meeting all of its responsibilities will persist given the challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, climate change, racial and social inequities, and other crises in the United States and around the world."

Defense

  • "A government watchdog warned that the U.S. military has failed to adequately include cybersecurity provisions in contracts for acquiring weapons systems."

  • "The Defense Intelligence Agency announced a contract worth up to $12.6 billion for a broad range of IT services, naming 144 vendors that can compete for pieces of the award. Those services for the military intelligence agency and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency include managed network and enterprise computing support. The 10-year indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, announced March 2, also will provide cybersecurity, service desk support, and unified voice, video and chat tools."
