On Tuesday, May 30, 2023, Maynard Nexsen PC partner Joshua Duvall presented on bid protests for the AFCEA International Small Business Committee Center of Excellence Mentor-Protege Program in Fairfax, Virginia.
During the session Bid Protests 101: What Contractors Need to Know, Josh covered all things bid protest, including debriefings, timeliness rules, successful protest grounds, and intervening. A bid protest is a powerful tool for government contractors, but in many instances small businesses don’t understand how to fully take advantage of the process. By developing a fundamental understanding of bid protests, decision makers can sometimes avoid undue cost and headache. Josh's presentation explored the nuts and bolts of bid protests – both prosecuting and defending – and provided attendees with a pragmatic, best-practices approach for incorporating them into their procurement playbooks.
Josh is currently serving as the Chair of the AFCEA Small Business Committee (FY23) with Co-Chair Katie Helwig of Mild Red LLC.
